Hello students. As mentioned in a previous announcement, the month of March promises to be busy--extremely busy! In addition to the usual quizzes, tests, News briefs (March 6, 13, & 20), Literature Circles activity, In Class Writing Assignments (3), Special Report 2 (A Look Back), Video Notes for Ancient Japan, you must complete the following: 1) 3rd Quarter Reports (21st Century Time Traveler), 2) TAT 2 (Thinking About Things), 3) Visual Analysis from photos & cartoons (new activity) from Junior Scholastic, Class Debates 3 (for periods 3, 5, & 7), College Bowl 1 (Chapters 1-20) reviewed & contested in a game format, and Analyze This #4 & #5.
Please note: the Visual Analysis assignment will be used in conjunction with Literature Circles activity and Special Report 2 will be available next week. Also, if you would like to get ahead then you can watch two video/podcasts on Ancient Japan (from YouTube) entitled "Japan Geography" by Global Regents 9, 19:12 minutes and "The Heian Period" by Mahima Aggarwal, 3:14 minutes.
Finally, 'extra-credit' will be offered to all students (but especially students with a C- or below grade) for remaining school year and be available in the following formats: a) role plays/skits, b) written reports, c) oral presentations (including recitations) d) panel & round table discussions, and e) illustrations, etc.
