TWPS (2 of 9): Griots or storytellers in West African culture were highly prized for their wisdom, knowledge, resourcefulness, practicality, and common sense. These venerable elders’ dispense advice, and offer guidance and support for community members. In American culture, the elderly community oftentimes receive unfavorable love relative to time-honored (earned) respect and appreciation from its young! Why? Explain young anthropologists.
