C Building Room 209 Spring Semester 2016
World History
2nd Semester Project
Yearbooks/Journals*
Periods: 1, 2, 3, 6, & 7 (Grade 7)
Due: Monday, June 6, 2016
“We know what we are, but know not what we may be.”—Ophelia, William Shakespeare
Directions: students must chronicle (record) daily in their yearlong experiences (the good, bad, and ugly, regardless of your particular experience) here at Fred T. Korematsu Middle School The challenges that the teachers and students face are monumental! Moving into a temporary site with no gymnasium, limited spaces, the elimination of several key elective classes and here’s the topper, overcrowded classrooms are enough to make anybody want to scream! Good. Now let’s proceed on . . .
This creative project should be a reflective piece designed to assist me in finding out what you (students) are really thinking. Your journals are private property and will not be shared or distributed with other students! You can include photos, illustrations or whatever you deem appropriate and necessary to create the best product. As you know, ‘history detectives’ both record and interpret events from the past. Hopefully, at the conclusion of the year, you will be able to figure out what happened during the course of the year and why it happened and the way it did.
*This assignment will count for ten-percent (10%) towards your 2nd Semester grade. Also, I will check your journals on a regular basis (monthly) throughout the year—please be prepared!
Always do your best work!:)
