Today’s Agenda: Class work . . . Day 175
TWPS (9 of 9): In 2014, former major-league relief pitcher, and MLB Network analyst, Mitch Williams was ejected from a youth baseball tournament for uttering a profanity-laced rant towards the umpire, and for ordering his pitcher to ‘hit’ the opposing pitcher with a bean ball! Fans and parents witnessed Williams’s meltdown at a Ripken Baseball tournament. Baseball protocol allows for the retaliatory brush back pitch or a strike on the body (usually the lower half) as a way of standing up for their teammates. Some people wonder if this age-old tradition receive the audience and attention of 10-year olds. Should Williams keep his job as a youth baseball coach? In addition, should Williams receive counseling for his inexcusable, unacceptable, and inappropriate behavior? MLB Network has since terminated him but Mitch is suing MLB Network for breach of contract! What do you think young social scientists? . . . 7 minutes.
