Today’s Agenda: Classwork . . . Day 142
TWPS (2 of 8): Starting in 2017, the University of California at Berkeley will require 80% of its student athletes to maintain a 3.0 GPA if not, then well you need to find another college/university (one that will be less rigorous and cater to slothfulness in a lot of us)! :) Well, young social scientists what impact do you think this new academic policy (effective 2017) will have on the university in recruiting ‘blue’ chip athletes who fail to meet the minimum (requirements)? Also, how will this resonate among the students in high school and even middle school? The message is clear: academics first, athletics second! How do you see it? Is it fair to exclude average students with an average GPA of 2-2.8 from an opportunity to study and compete at a prestigious university just because their GPA is fewer than 3.0 (the new minimum standard @ UC Berkeley)? Why or why not? . . . . 7 minutes.
ICW #27 (The Importance of Chinese Inventions) . . . 12 minutes.
Group activity (Visual Analysis) continues . . . 12 minutes.
College Bowl I final preparations . . . 12 minutes.
