TWPS (2 of 10): In ancient times, salt was a priceless commodity in in Rome, and places like southern Ghana etc. In fact, in some parts of Africa were salt was scarce, it was prized more highly than gold. Really? In parts of Central Africa today, salt is more valuable than gold. Why? West Africans use salt to preserve (prior to refrigeration) to flavor food, and to replenish their bodies after heavy perspiration lost due to the hot African climate! Do you agree or disagree with the statement: salt is worth its weight in gold. What do you think young anthropologists? . . . 7 minutes.
