TWPS (2 of 10): Throughout China’s history, the emperors appointed different types of people to help them govern. People were chosen from the wealthy members of society, called aristocrats; scholar officials were chosen (especially those trained in Confucian thought), appointed foreigners (qualified or not), and finally ‘friends’ of the emperor. What do you think is the best method for selecting potential candidates to ‘govern’ society?
